Admission Requirements

Students must possess an undergraduate Honours Degree in Philosophy or its equivalent in order to qualify for the M.A. program. An Honours Degree normally amounts to 60 credits in philosophy. A qualified applicant having between 48 and 60 credits in philosophy may be admitted to the MA program and be required to take up to 12 undergraduate credits (in so-called qualifying courses) in addition to and as a part of the regular graduate program.

A qualifying year program is available for those who possess a Bachelor's degree in another discipline but have at least 24 credits in philosophy or its equivalent.

For information on the courses to be taken in the M.A. program, see Program Requirements as well as Thesis Guidelines or Research Papers.
